Have you heard of it? Are you participating? Or do you just wish you could be there...
On Saturday 21st September, knitters from far and near will descend on London for a one day yarn [fibre] extravaganza!
5 groups (= 5 routes) of fibre enthusiasts will take to London’s streets on a tour of local yarn and haberdashery stores. All routes will end at Waterloo Station for a meet up at The Mulberry Bush pub for the after party. Here, you can put up your feet and relax, show off the day’s purchases and have something well deserved to drink :)
I have heard there will be some amazing goodie bags and door prizes being offered and all net proceeds are donated to Refuge - for women and children against violence.
So, how did I get involved?
Back in August I was contacted by the co-organisers, Rachel Brown and Allison Thistlewood, when they asked if I would consider sponsoring GLYC. I had never heard of it so I looked it up online and what I found out prompted the only possible answer: Yes, I’d be honoured to sponsor you!
I turned to my dye pot and decided to make a unique colour way for one of the prizes... a GLYC special, if you like :) The other prize is my latest shawl design: Rubies and Steel.
I hope I will be able to join you at the after party and see what you all bought during the day, and at the end of the evening, what you won!
For further information you can check out GLYC blog HERE and if you want to be amazed, check out all the lovely sponsors on the GLYC website! (I couldn't get the link to work)
